Breakaway Visits Trustees

I'm a Specialist Paediatric Stoma & Bowel Management Nurse. I work in a Children's Hospital, local community, help run the Paediatric Stoma Nurses course in Birmingham and am an active member of the PSNG (Paediatric Stoma Nurses Group).
I have attended all the Breakaway activity weekends and was delighted to be asked to become a Trustee last year.
On a personal level I too have a daughter who has a bowel and bladder dysfunction and love to watch the children have fun and gain confidence at Breakaway.

I have a daughter with a stoma.
She was born with a complex anorectal anomaly and had a colostomy formed when she was very young.
She now has an ACE malone plus a Mitrofanoff and is a very happy kid!
We live in the East Midlands.

My involvement with Breakaway was initially due to working for an Appliance Company who distributes and manufactures medical supplies in Stoma Care, Urology and Wound Care.
Over the past few years this has now developed into a personal passion to help and support children and their families to overcome everyday issues.
I have two children Emily 24 and Harley 20 who have helped out at Breakaway.
I live in Twyford Berkshire.
My nickname is Woo.
